Kristyn's Photography
I took all of my cityscape photos in New York City. The NY photos are mainly of buildings, architecture, and city life. I photographed hot dog and pretzel stands, buildings and streets. I was far away from the subject and my point of view was usually straight on, but sometimes I was slightly looking up. The majority of my photos are horizontal, but there are a few that are vertical, such as the last one and the one with the clock. For many of the photos the street lights and street signs and tree branches are incorporated as line. Also, the smoke in a few of the pictures can kind of add texture to the photos. I couldn't really control the light because all the photos are taken outside, but I did take them during the middle of the day to use the sun for lighting. Many of the photos have a foreground, middle ground and back ground. They all represent the hustle and bustle of city life.

For one of my landscape photos I captured the field right near the Berkley-Dighton Bridge. This area near the bridge is originally a corn field, but on this particular day the snow had melted and created a pond appearance. It was an overcast day and the sky was very grey/foggy. I was very close to the dirt/ground in the foreground of the picture, but as you can tell by the depth of field, I was very far away from the trees. I took the photo straight on and horizontal. The edge of dirt and where it crosses over to water represents line. I didn't have that much time to think about my point of view because I was in a car, but I made sure to incorporate all of the surroundings to show that it was a rural place.
